Dear Dollmakers and Friends,

You are happily invited to the launching of our new Uthando Project DVD,

"Goodness and Happiness. Sisters in KwaZulu-Natal"

It is filmed, directed and edited by Natalija Brunovs.

It will be shown in two sessions as part of the

International Women's Day celebrations

arranged through the WA Government's Department of Community,

Office of Women's Policy at

Central TAFE, 140 Royal St, East Perth

SUNDAY 8TH MARCH

First session at 12.30, finish 1.30pm

Second session at 2.30pm, finish 3pm

There will be a small display of Uthando Project's work downstairs with 30 other organisations.

Check out our new Family Groups of dolls!

The film will be shown in a lecture room upstairs.

Admission is free. If you would like to buy a copy of the DVD, $10

Our programme will introduce the project, see the film, meet the film maker

and a forum of the women who travelled with Nat Brunovs to KwaZulu-Natal in October.

The film is  9 minutes of treasured images from hours of filming by Nat, assisted by Dr Julie Stone.

It is tender, realistic, moving and pure.

Two Zulu sisters, named Goodness and Happiness, are adjusting to life after the death of their mother.

Goodness learns how to make a doll at one of our rural workshops and we glimpse

the magnitude of the effects on her sister and the women at the Uthando workshop

where we were in partnership with TREE and RobS.

Please come and invite others.
