Welcome to 2012 friends! 

We hope you all had a lovely, relaxing holiday break and are ready for a fresh new year!

Propel are looking forward to all of the exciting events that are in the works for 2012! At the moment we are working on preparations for National Youth Week, but more on that in the next e-zine.

Summer is the time to get out and about around Perth! There are heaps of summer festivals and special events happening, including outdoor cinema screenings and the Joondalup Summer Sessions. Be sure to book your tickets to performances happening around Perth too!

If it's skill development that you're after check out the drama workshops that NIDA are running, get your project up and running with YCulture Metro and be sure to sign up for GENERATE, the program for local music business entrepreneurs!

We're back!

The Propel Office have just returned back to the office after a lovely holiday break, all well rested and ready for a new year! Needless to say we're busy responding to emails and catching up on missed phone calls- so if you're waiting on a response to your email sit tight!

We're getting ready for new arts initiatives and changing projects and are looking forward to a fantastic year ahead. Stay tuned for some exciting announcements in the next e-zine!

National Youth Week 2012

We've been busily planning for National Youth Week 2012 alongside the Department of Communities and the NYW Steering Committee. Stay tuned for stallholder callouts, band callouts and heaps of exciting announcements about this years events in the next few weeks!

Drug Aware presents Life in Miniature Workshops

Anything is Valid Dance Theatre (AIVDT) presents their new project Life in Miniature. They like to present the unexpected, pushing the boundaries of dance and the ways (and places!) dance can be presented.  

When: 12pm, Friday the 20th. Followed by Artists' talk 1.30pm. 

Where: Midland Junction Arts Centre, 276 Great Eastern Hwy Midland.

Joondalup Summer Sessions

It's on again...the Joondalup Summer Sessions are coming to a park near you! Get outside, enjoy the sunshine, grab some food and enjoy the free activities for 12-17 year olds. Propel will be there to run some fun arty activities. Check our website for all the times and dates.

Fright Fight Flight Youth Arts Initiative

Check out this fantastic event the Fright Fight Flight Youth Arts Initiative, a Group Exhibition. The Opening event is on Friday 6th January at 6pm, exhibition then runs Monday 9th – Friday 19th January 2012. Its on at the YMCA HQ Gallery, 60A Frame Court, Leederville WA. Fright Fight Flight aims to promote positive mental health by providing pathways to recovery through visual art. Find out more here.

Life in Miniature Heads to Fringe

Anything is Valid Dance Theatre Company is exploring one of the great Australian traditions- caravaning. They will be performing for small groups of five at a time in the unique setting of a caravan, reflecting on themes of life in a small space. The girls will be performing at Perth Fringe World before packing up their caravan and heading to the Adelaide Fringe Festival. You can find all of their performance dates and times online.
