Mailout Soundtrack

This weeks mailout soundtrack comes from Xiu Xiu. Click on the lego block to hear some of their tunes!

Xiu Xiu present the anxious and self-dislike as a sexy thing. Despite being able to do this rather convincingly their last few eleases were too avant gaurd for Xiu Xiu fans, that as well as being Xiu Xiu fans, actually like music. Their new record Dear God I Hate Myself is a return to the form of standout 2004 release Fabulous muscles.

This lego block was found by searching for 'lego block' thru the internerd.

Seeya somewhere soon!

It was Saturday night and therefore, I cunningly calculated, the ideal time to get a head-start on the Easter egg hunt – while the local whippersnappers caught their forty winks, not yet arisen to boisterously ransack the environs. I followed a string of rabbit tracks that led me down a coastal trail, to the water’s edge, the inky sky still stained with ghosts of setting sun-light and the shore curling away towards faintly visible docklands and a coal-dark sea. Here I found myself stood before the largest...

girls and boys

A friend of mine who lives in Sydney tells me he’ll be in town on Saturday night.

In high school, I was more than content to hang out with the boys on weekends, drinking beers, smoking bongs and playing pool, than to sit around with the girls and natter about some annoying girl we knew or how hot some guy was. I tried the girly thing a couple of times as a teenager, and while I definitely had a few close girl friends...

Martin E Wills: Inside The Towers

Grey Door Gallery, Rear of Claremont Hotel, Claremont

But it has only been said once, by Martin E Wills, who invites you to 'Inside The Towers' -- his first exhibition for 2010 at the Grey Door Gallery in Claremont.

There you can discover the men behind the men (behind the gigantic self-aware computers) that rule Territory Twelve, the decaying continent sized metropolis backdrop for Martin's low-brow comic-book/sci-fi-cinema art. Inside The Towers features new works alongside pieces from his 2008 and 2009 solo shows.
